Union Savings and Loan Association has replaced their 30th St. branch with a new 4500 square foot banking facility. Located in front of the Kroger’s on 30th street, construction on the new bank that started in May is completed, and the bank is open for business.

“We are proud of this expansion of our services to our customers,” says President and CEO Mark Boehmer. “The 30th Street branch has long offered convenience to those on the north end of Connersville, but the office was quite small. Originally it was designed as just a drive up location, and then some years later it was modified to have walk-in service. The new facility is a full bank branch and a vast improvement over the previous office. ”

The new bank has a fresh, modern look, but retains the traditional columns of other Union Savings and Loan buildings. It has five offices, a new accounts room, a conference room, a more spacious area for teller transactions, safe deposit boxes, a lobby, as well as drive-through and ATM service. The building was designed by Josh Marszalek of Rural Valley Architecture and Design Services.

“I’ve seen many changes in banking over the past 40 years, but one thing that hasn't changed is the need for great customer service,” says USLA Board Chairman Melvin Dice. “This new facility helps us achieve that goal.”

“We couldn’t be more excited,” says branch manager Amy Hammons. “There are a lot of people who do their shopping and errands on the north end of Connersville. Having a full branch here, as well as downtown, is the best way to give the people of Connersville the convenience they need and deserve.”

“We are the only locally owned and operated bank in Connersville, and moreover Fayette County is our home,” adds Boehmer. “Reinvesting in the city of Connersville is something we’re proud to do and think it’s important to do. In 2013 we celebrated Connersville’s history and Bicentennial. We hope this project will also enhance the city’s future.”

Union Savings and Loan was founded in 1892 in Connersville, and has a branch in Greenfield, in addition to their 2 locations in this community.
